Things I Wish People Knew/Understood About Autism

As an adult on the autism spectrum, there are some things that I wish people understood about it. some people are under the impression that your problems go away when you're 18. This is false. Think of it as a physically disabled kid in a wheelchair and assuming when they turn 18 they should be able to walk. Disabilities don't go away. If you can't expect a physical disability to go away when the person is 18, then you shouldn't assume autism goes away.

Stereotypes Actually Hurt Is

When it comes to famous people on the spectrum like Sheldon from 'The Big Bang Theory' or Temple Grandin, expecting your aspie to be like these people is actually harmful to them rather than inspiring. If you wouldn't do this to someone with a visible disability, then don't do it to us.

We Have Feelings

There is a myth that we are 'empathetic,' I'd like to say that this is FALSE. Just because we do not react how you would want us to doesn&…

Why Self-Employment Is Better, Why I Recommend It

The job market changes, stores have to close because they aren't getting any business. Layoffs, getting fired. A lot of things can play a role in keeping employment. Some people cannot work due to an illness or disability that they may have. In my case, it will be impossible for me to find a job with the settings that I need, and because I have no experience. I figured, why should I spend all these years ( been looking for a job since 2015) when I can work towards self-employment. I will get into at the end how you can become your own boss. I feel self-employment is a tad easier to get, it won't happen overnight, but it will over time.

I think being your own boss is better than working for some jerk who can fire you or cut your hours at many moment.

Jobs Are Getting Harder To Find

It's a lot harder to find a job now than it used to me. Technology is cutting all the jobs. At most grocery stores, they have the self-checkout lane. If people can save 10+ minutes waiting in line…

Jobs That Are NOT For Adults With Autism

I made a blog article on jobs that would work for adults with autism. However, I think we should cover the jobs that you should avoid if you are on the autism spectrum. This is just my 2 cents. Everyone is different.

It's rough for people with autism to find steady employment. It's important that you avoid these jobs. Most people with autism have poor short term memory. I am one of these people. I have issues with high demand jobs that call for you to remember a lot of things.  I don't know about you, I cannot handle several tasks at the same time. I am a one at a time person. Do this then move on to the next task when I am done.

People on the autism spectrum should avoid retail/fast-food jobs. In fast-food, chances are you will be given several tasks at once. That would be too demanding on me because I need time to process, adjust, etc.  Same with retail like grocery stores. You may be given several tasks to do at one time. You w…

I Turned This Journal Into A Planner

Planners are your best friend to help you organize your life. Organize your priorities. I post content in several places. I post on YouTube on my gaming channel and my vlog channel, D.Tube, Verond. I use my planner to plan out the videos and blog post I want to go live.  I can also mark when I need to make thumbnails for my videos and schedule my videos.

I got a spiral journal with a cover that I really liked. I picked out another one that I liked because I couldn't pick one. I  used this journal, stickers and some markers and highlighters to color code everything. I picked it all up at the dollar store. I looked up some videos on YouTube to get an idea on how I can decorate it.

My handwriting sucks you guys. I colored my dates and I will color the tasks. I will also add in my appointments I may have since I have extreme memory issues. I saw that with 9 bucks I can get a notebook, stickers, markers and such to decorate my planner instead of spending 9 dollars on a planner somewher…

How I Do YouTube On A Budget

Let's be real, most small YouTubers can't afford good equipment. I am one of them. YouTube is hard when your poor but not impossible. This will be a guild on how I YouTube with little to no money and how you can too. It's hard for most small YouTubers, as we cannot afford the equipment the larger guys use. Some viewers even point out minor things or point out how the camera, mic etc isn't good and to upgrade. The problem is, we can't afford to upgrade. Not all of us have jobs, or are able to get jobs or don't have parents to help us get the equipment.

What if I told you that you can use things around the house for your equipment?  Even if you have the money, I still suggest you go with what you have because you don't want to spend so much money on YouTube gear and you don't stick with it.
For filming Vlogs, Chatty Videos Etc
Before my mom upgraded our phones, I had to use my sucky Windows Phone and my sucky tablet to make my vlogs. When I did sit down …

Why I Chose To Work From Home

After several attempts at finding a job that's right for me and that I can cope with failed, I decided to work towards self-employment. I have autism, therefore a job where I have to be social, work at a fast pace, where I am around a lot of people, etc would be too overwhelming for me. I cannot do retail or fast-food due to pace and pressure. Not many office jobs near me. I prefer something close in case someone has to come to get me then they won't have to go too far. I decided that if I want a job where I can go at my own pace, self-employment is the best option. I am going to go over why I chose this route.

Most of us are unemployment. We are seen as lazy to outsiders when really we are jumping through hoops to find a job, but it doesn't work out.

If I need to schedule a doctor's appointment, it would be hard to do if I had a regular job. Let's pretend I had a job. Let's say I worked from 9-2 Mon-Fri and had weekends o…

Why Your Channel Isn't Growing On YouTube

It's hard not to blame YouTube's algorithm for the reason you're not growing. It's particularly on YouTube for not alerting the subscribers of your uploads. It's not all on YouTube though. It's somewhat their fault why you're not growing.

Channel Appearance, does your channel make people want to check it out? Of course, no one is going to stick around if your channel has no banner, profile picture, attention-grabbing thumbnails. There are several tutorials you can look up on how to make graphics for your channel. Or you can pay someone on Fiverr to make graphics for you. Think of it as a book, the book has to have an attention-grabbing cover to make you wanna buy it. Or a movie, the movie has to have a good poster to get you to go see it. Sometimes, looks do matter. Sometimes, you do judge a book by its cover. I admit I don't have Photoshop skills. You can do some basic things on there.

Your Channel Has No SEO, this is how people will find your videos or …
